Baby Boomer memories
From early childhood:
Remembering my pet chameleon Charlie got sucked up in my Mom's canister vacuum!
(somewhere around 5 years old)
I was so mad for days & days.

Grade school years
I remember my mother walking me to school to teach me the way, between 5 and 6 years old.
I walked by myself in first grade.

High school years
Growing up in a small rural town we did not have middle school,
you went from 8th grade right into high school.
There is something to be said about going all the way through school with the same kids...

I had my first job as a freshman at our local hospital as a nurses aide before you had to be certified.
I worked 4pm to midnight Mon-Fri and every other weekend. I thought I was something making $1.65/hr...more than $.50/hr babysitting.

After high school
I didn't start adult life the conventional way, I went straight from finishing my junior year into a relationship and starting my family.

Working & raising a family
My first job as an adult was cleaning 24 rooms/day at a Holiday Inn.
That job looking back, was actually backbreaking work even for a 17 year old to earn $1.65/hr.
